"Methods and Madness in Research: Measurements of Quality and of Width”

This introductory talk intends to take an anecdotal overview on the range and diversity of approaches taken by artists pursuing research within an academic context. If time allows, I will compare these with approaches that artists take in generating their work and contexts for their work within a professional context. In so doing I hope to highlight the productiveness for practitioners of the encounter between modes that are often experienced at odds with one another.
