On 4 December 1999, the citizens of Weimar were invited to celebrate the occasion of my initiation into the society of the carnivores. The event is a celebration and commemoration of the deliberate transgression of a personal taboo effective since my childhood. The transgression is the culmination of a personal history, an allegory for human moral evolution, from an unbridled state of animal voracity to the orderly and sophisticated world of limits and prohibitions. The sound installation is an exploration of the performance’s motivations through the perspectives of four personas.
